Show Ads in Sequence by AdWords - How to Tell Story

Story Marketing - Everybody talks about Advertising now is to share story.
Let your customers see the history of the brand, story of the company and recognize the value behind the product itself.

It's impossible to include all message in a static ad no matter how big your banner be. You need moving picture - Video. Thanks to Youtube ad, we got the option other than TV with more specific reach, data and linkage to website.
However sometimes the video is too long and it's better to chop down into series.

Youtube In-stream Ad Show in Sequence

The technical skill required is simply remarketing setup, no code installation cos it's Youtube.

1st chapter video - open to all

2nd chapter video- negative audience who viewed 1st chapter video

AdWords(GDN) Ad Show in Sequence

This one is a bit tricky. First of all, you need a linked GA account.

Go to Admin page,

1. Set the audience list according to the ad being clicked(banner 1)

2. Import the audience list to AdWords

3. Set up an ad group containing banner 2 image/text ad and add the audience list into the group

4. Ads in that group only show to users who clicked banner 1

(in below screen 300x250.swf is a bad naming)

What is the Challenge?

The minimum cookies for kicking off youtube(viewed) remarketing and AdWords are the same - 100 users.

However it is far easier for Youtube ad to collect viewed users than banner to collect clicked users.

Definitely video is more effective as a medium to tell story where banner ad is harder to present storyline.

The technique demonstrated here allows us to segment audience by the message they received(which banner being clicked)

P.S If you are not receiving audience, remember to turn them ON first
